Butler Promotes Accountability

William Butler, MD, former head of my alma mater at Baylor in Houston, once issued a call over 12 years ago for social accountability for medical schools from his podium as an academic leader, although Baylor itself has developed an innovative high school for health professions, few have really made an effort to deal with underserved populations. Dr. Butler highlighted the RPAP model at Minnesota, PSAP, WWAMI, and other models I will discuss. The work of Dr. Butler and others had little impact.

Current leaders such as Jordan Cohen call for admissions changes, but little responses is noted. Cohen on Admissions

Admissions, curricula, and leadership are key areas.
